Hey, if we haven’t met yet, I’m Amanda van Gils...
I help artists streamline the business of art, and implement strategies for creative success.
I am an artist, and I'm also a businessperson, and experienced coach who has helped numerous people gain clarity, and confidence and have flourishing careers using my unique, holistic Mindset, Skillset, and Toolset model.

Unlike some art business coaches who only have online business experience, I have business experience AND real-life art industry experience, including exhibiting and selling through galleries, curating exhibitions and selling online and from my studio.
In fact, since completing my Post Graduate Qualification at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne Australia, I have exhibited in over 120 exhibitions, but it's not only my own art. I have also curated and project-managed major exhibitions (up to 55 artists), hosted an artists-supporting artists forum and launched and managed the ART500 online gallery for 6 years.

No, not at all. Did you know there are successful artists who never went to, or finished art school? In the program we have a mix of ‘self-taught’, started art school but never finished, and art school graduates from BA right up Masters degree level.
The only thing to note is we don’t teach you how to make the art, though the community is always happy to chat about art making..
All kinds of visual artists. Artists who work online, offline or a hybrid. We have artists who have been making work for a couple of years and artists who have been exhibiting for over 30 years and anywhere in between. This program is broad so you get to dive deeper into the areas that you need the most.
You get access for 12 months starting from when you join. We open the doors a few times a year – After the initial 12 months you can opt to continue with an annual renewal or on a month by month basis for a monthly fee.
Investing in your growth as an artist and getting a short cut to 20+ years of knowledge and insights will help you to sell more and you totally deserve it.

It is a content-rich program. You have a full 12 months so you can dip in and out. Even so you don’t have to do everything – because it all depends where you already are and your goals as to what you need. And if you need help to direct you to the most important content to achieve your particular goals, you’ve got it!
All our material is stepped out so to cover foundations and to build on the foundations. It’s designed for artists who are already making art. Our regular calls and community space allow you to ask all the questions you need. And yes we have had early career artists join us and do well (some who were even hesitant to use the term artist), but if you aren’t yet making any art, then this wouldn’t be right for you. So get in touch and we can discuss the best options for you.
The weekly calls happen on a Monday, Thursday and Friday and they are run in daytime and early evening times, on a rotating basis. So everyone is able to attend some calls live.
All calls are recorded and posted to the group for anyone who can’t attend live.
Quarterly Doing Days are held 4 times a year and are not recorded

We have a private platform hosted on Mighty Networks which minimises distractions and allows you to be completely in the zone. When you are in the lounge, you are in the lounge.
Our platform is accessible on web and app, so you can join in, catch up and do the courses on computer, tablet or even smartphone if you like
No! I am Australian and most of the artists in the program are too, but the information taught crosses borders. As long as you can make the timezones work for you, we welcome you.

My week has been full-on. Meeting with a client for illustration for a poetry book. It will be a six-month window. I have another illustration job for teacups and I am finishing off the children’s book commission.
What an amazing quarterly doing day @theartistsbusinesslounge with our inspirational coach @amandavangils. So many remarkable stories from some truly exceptional people, all of whom are deeply passionate about their art practice, whatever form that may take. Don’t ever underestimate the power of goal setting.

A nice win recently is that my local framer purchased one of my prints to have in his store to show the non-reflective glass in a dark subject.
It’s almost time to press go on the website. I will have an initial suite of fine art photography works available.
