SSP helps you stop tackling the same issues in isolation and start building your art career with clearer direction, practical structure, live coaching, artist-specific resources and a personalised 90-day Learning and Action Plan.
You do not need to figure everything out alone
Many artists work incredibly hard for years.
They make work. They apply for opportunities. They try to improve visibility. They rebuild websites. They wrestle with pricing. They research galleries. They post online. They start systems and stop them again.
Yet despite all of that effort, progress can still feel slower, messier, or less consistent than it should.
Often, it is because nobody has helped them see what matters most right now, what is distracting them, what needs strengthening, and how the different parts of a professional practice connect together.
That is what SSP was created to support.

Artists can be at very different points when they join SSP.
Some are rebuilding foundations. Some want more visibility. Some are preparing for exhibitions, residencies or prizes. Others are strengthening sales pathways, gallery relationships, collector communication, or the systems that support their practice behind the scenes.
SSP meets you where you are, then helps you focus on what is most useful now.
At the core of the program is a personalised framework that brings together your SSP plan, flexible learning pathways, live group coaching, artist-specific courses, implementation support, practical systems, and a community that understands artists.
This is what allows progress without unnecessary pressure.
You are supported to learn what matters, apply it within your own practice, and build stronger foundations over time.
The program strengthens your mindset, skillset and toolset so your art career can grow in a way that actually works for you.
“I had really high hopes on joining SSP and not only have they been met, they’ve been exceeded. One of the reasons I joined was that SSP highlights the fact that there’s no one right way to be a professional artist. While there is a pathway and lots of scaffolding, the focus is on figuring out what kind of career you want and giving you the tools and guidance to get there.”
Caitlin Swan, SSP member

Every artist entering SSP begins with reflection, intake questions and a structured planning process.
From this, you receive a personalised 90-day Learning and Action Plan based on your goals, stage of practice, current priorities, working style, capacity and where progress appears to be stalling.
The framework is shared.
The sequence is personalised.
That matters because artists do not need the same things at the same time.
Some need stronger systems. Some need clearer visibility. Some need a more professional online presence. Some need support with selling, confidence or follow-through. Some need to consolidate before adding anything else.
Your plan helps identify what matters now, what can wait, and where action matters more than additional learning.
The goal is not to complete every piece of content.
The goal is to focus on the right work at the right time..
“The personalised learning plan you get on joining is wonderful. It felt like a perfect fit for where I am in my art career and for the kind of person I am. There have been a couple of times I’ve felt very overwhelmed, then looked at my plan. It was like Amanda had looked into the future and foresaw exactly what I needed to hear.”

“The VIP support added an extra layer of confidence. What I valued most was the reframing. It helped me focus on the smallest viable things to get moving.”
Shaun Weston, SSP VIP
Below is the full structure that supports both levels.
What is included inside SSP
SSP brings together the core elements artists need to build a stronger professional practice: strategic direction, practical education, live coaching, implementation support, community, and real-world professional insight.
Each part has a role, and together they create a connected support structure designed to help you learn what matters, apply it in your own practice, and keep building with more clarity and consistency.

The Personalised SSP Plan
This is one of the most important parts of SSP.
Every artist entering the program begins with reflection, intake questions and a structured planning process.
From this, a personalised 90-day Learning and Action Plan is created around your goals, stage of practice, current priorities, working style, capacity, and where progress appears to be stalling.
The framework is shared. The sequence is personalised.
This matters because artists do not need the same things at the same time.
Some artists need stronger systems. Some need clearer visibility. Some need a more professional online presence. Some need support with selling conversations, confidence or follow-through. Some need to stop hiding from the next obvious step. Some need to consolidate before they add anything else.
Your plan helps identify what matters now, what can wait, where action matters more than additional learning, and where mindset, skillset or toolset gaps may be slowing progress.
The goal is not to complete every piece of content.
It is to focus on the right work at the right time.
Artists who have received their plan are saying:
“I feel so seen.”
“This is so me.”
“This feels achievable.”
Caitlin, SSP member
The group coaching calls are one of the most valued parts of SSP.
The courses give you structure and depth, but the coaching calls help you interpret the work, apply it to your own practice, and make better decisions as you go.
These sessions combine teaching, coaching, reflection and practical action. Some calls focus on mindset and behaviour. Some focus on professional skills, visibility, selling, language, planning, systems or confidence. Others respond directly to the questions and patterns emerging inside the group.
This is where the work becomes more specific.
You might be looking at resistance, overthinking, avoidance, self-trust, money stories, fear of visibility, unclear priorities, lack of structure, or the gap between knowing what to do and actually doing it.
This is also where mindset, skillset and toolset meet in real time.
Artists are not just learning more. They are learning how to read what is happening, make clearer decisions, and take more useful action.

Examples of coaching call themes include:
Mindset, behaviour and follow-through
Knowing is Not Enough: Moving From Insight to Action
Overwhelm and Resistance
Imposter Syndrome
Money Mindset

Language, visibility and professional presence

“The course filled gaps in what I did not know, but thought I did. What converted me to SSP was the opportunity to talk with Amanda, someone knowledgeable about the industry who listens intently and provides realistic information, not pie-in-the-sky gloss.”- SSP member

SSP works because the pieces are connected.
> The personalised plan gives you focus.
> The courses give you structure.
> The coaching calls help you apply and adapt the work.
> The community keeps you connected.
> The resources, worksheets and templates help you implement without starting from scratch.
> The guest expert sessions add professional insight from people who understand the realities of the arts sector.
Together, these elements create a professional development program for artists who want to build stronger, more sustainable practices.
The goal is not to give you more information for the sake of it.
The goal is to help you work on the right things, in a useful order, with support around you.
SSP is built around Mindset, Skillset and Toolset, three connected areas that shape how artists make progress.
Mindset: how you interpret your work, value, opportunities and decisions.
Skillset: what you know, how you communicate, and how clearly you apply what you have learned.
Toolset: the systems, structures and habits that support follow-through.
Most art business challenges are connected. Visibility affects sales. Confidence affects follow-through. Pricing affects positioning. Systems affect capacity.
SSP helps you see which part needs attention, so your effort goes where it can make the greatest difference.
The image behind is opening night of TABLE 21 - a group exhibition from the first group of artists to join SSP. Artwork visible Left Gillian Richards, Right: Rachael Lee
Because SSP is personalised, artists do not all work on the same things or define success in the same way.
Some focus on foundations such as websites, pricing, systems, mailing lists or professional documents. Others work on visibility, exhibitions, gallery relationships, sales conversations, confidence, follow-through or clearer positioning.
The common thread is not one identical outcome. It is stronger direction, better support, clearer decisions, and more consistent professional momentum over time.

I felt close to giving up. I had been an artist for years, exhibiting, working with galleries, receiving grants, and maintaining a website - all the things I thought should have led to more success. But I could not move forward.
That is when I joined SSP. Now I feel reinvigorated, making connections and deepening my practice and my work.

I am a practising, exhibiting artist, an experienced business professional, and a trained coach.
I have been exhibiting consistently since 2000 and working professionally online since January 2000, so I understand the long, layered reality of building an art career over time. Exhibitions, galleries, online platforms, pricing, marketing, visibility, systems, confidence, capacity, money, opportunities, self-doubt, all of it.
Over the past two decades, I have built artist communities, curated exhibitions, developed online artist initiatives, coached artists, and created professional development resources specifically for visual artists.
In 2007, I founded TLF, an online artists-supporting-artists community created long before online artist education became common.
In 2015, I founded ART500, an online gallery supporting Australian contemporary artists.
In 2020, The Artists Business Lounge became the next evolution of that work, with SSP as its core program.
SSP is shaped by lived experience and applied understanding. It has grown from years of artist conversations, coaching, repeated patterns, practical problem-solving, and a long relationship with art, artists and professional practice.
My role is not to impose a formula. It is to help you see clearly, decide confidently, and build a career that supports your real work.
Join the art business program that professional artists love.
You’ve already done the hard work of building your practice. SSP helps you build the systems, clarity, and confidence to support it.

"The Artist Business Lounge is an information packed, hands on place of learning that will give you the valuable tools and insights for taking your arts business to the next level. Invaluable course content, together with Zoom sessions with guest presenters, Q&As, Amanda's warm hospitality and her industry experience in the corporate and arts worlds make for a great place for learning and integrating the business side of being an artist - not something you find in many places. A totally worthwhile investment."

Who is this for?
This is for you if you...
are a visual artist committed to your practice

value structure without rigidity
want to build real momentum
want to protect studio time and still stay visible
This is not for you if you...
want overnight results

are unwilling to engage with the process

Being in the program has really helped me solidify a long-term vision of myself as an artist, to break down the steps required to achieve those long-term goals. I increased my prices and sold work at the new prices within a matter of weeks. For the first time ever I had more money in my business bank account than my personal account.

I wish I had found The Success System Program years ago - it's a life-changer! Since joining the program, I have become clear on my goals and direction, and most importantly, have the tools and support to achieve them. The course materials are so comprehensive and relevant. No other business course I've come across is so specific to artists' needs, so in-depth and so informative. It's brilliant!

Built for sustainable progress
SSP runs across 12 months because meaningful professional growth takes time.
Some artists move quickly. Others move more gradually while balancing exhibitions, paid work, family, health, studio rhythms, confidence dips and changing capacity. Both are valid.
The 12-month structure gives you time to learn, apply, review, adjust and keep going, without needing to cram everything into a short burst of motivation.
Success inside SSP is not about finishing every piece of content. It is about building the clarity, confidence, systems, skills and momentum that support your practice beyond the program itself.
Choose your level of support for your first 12 months inside SSP
Your first 12 months inside SSP give you the full program experience: your personalised plan, group coaching calls, community access, course library, Quarterly Doing Days, implementation resources, replays and selected professional insight sessions.

All kinds of visual artists. Artists who work online, offline or a hybrid. We have artists who have been making work for a couple of years and artists who have been exhibiting for over 30 years, artists who pair this program with their Master's studies, and anywhere in between. This program is broad, so you get to dive deeper into the areas that you need the most.
You get access for 12 months starting from when you join. We open the doors a few times a year. After the initial 12 months, you can opt to continue with an annual renewal or on a month-by-month basis for a monthly fee.
No, not at all. Did you know some successful artists never went to, or finished art school? In the program we have a mix of ‘self-taught’, started art school but never finished, and art school graduates from BA to Masters degree level.
The only thing to note is we don’t teach you how to make the art, though the community is always happy to chat about art making.
Investing in your growth as an artist and getting a short cut to 20+ years of knowledge and insights will help you to sell more and you totally deserve it. Plus, you might just find the cost is a tax deduction (if you are an artist for tax purposes). For a full year of online courses, resources, personal guidance and coaching, the cost works out to be about the cost of a cup of coffee a day. Jump in and let’s find you sales to cover the cost.
Sound good?
You can continue on past the initial 12 months. Renewals are at a reduced rate. Before the end of the 12 months you will receive an email outlining options and to stay for another year, or on a month-by-month basis along with the costs and any special bonuses that might apply. In very rare circumstances – if you haven’t been engaging with the content in the first 12 months and I don’t think it’s the best investment for you to continue, I may not offer a renewal. But that would be rare and I would discuss it with you. Sound fair?
As unlikely as that is, don’t worry, we do have a 14-day guarantee. Just participate in one call first. If it's not for you, email us within 14 days and we will refund you.
There are no refunds beyond the first 14 days.
We have a Zero Risk 14 day Guarantee You deserve to have the art career you’ve always wanted with the information and support to back you up.
Attend your first call and get started on the content. If you aren’t satisfied after participating, email amanda@theartistsbusinesslounge.com within 14 days of starting for a full refund. There is zero risk in signing up and investing in your career.
You have access to everything for as long as you remain an active member. There are a range of resources for you to download, including course notes, transcripts, templates, calculators and other handy tools as well as worksheets – that you can keep forever, as long as you download them while you are still an active member
Because I’m an artist who’s built a parallel skillset in business and coaching, and I got tired of watching serious artists lose years to avoidable confusion, poor sequencing, and doing everything the hard way.
No. The program includes a course library because artists do need solid information — but the value is in implementation: choosing what applies to you, setting a 90-day focus, and having ongoing support so it actually gets done.
No. The program is content rich and designed to give you information and attention for a full year so you can experience significant shifts without having to abandon your art making to study.
And because you won’t just be learning, you will be doing, 12 months of access makes it easier for you to take some downtime when you need it.
If a year is too long for you, we have other options, including individual coaching, short topic specific programs and standalone courses.
No. Our course are designed to help you make changes and so we drip feed content to allow you to learn, implement. and reflect. You’ll have access to the first course from day 1 and then other courses will be released to you as you complete them.
There are a lot of articles, downloads and other material for you to consume too.
It is a content-rich program. You have a full 12 months so you can dip in and out. Even so you don’t have to do everything – because it all depends where you already are and your goals as to what you need. And if you need help to direct you to the most important content to achieve your particular goals, you’ve got it!
All our material is stepped out so to cover foundations and to build on the foundations. It’s designed for artists who are already making art. Our regular calls and community space allow you to ask all the questions you need. And yes we have had early career artists join us and do well (some who were even hesitant to use the term artist), but if you aren’t yet making any art, then this wouldn’t be right for you. So get in touch and we can discuss the best options for you.
The weekly calls happen on Mondays, and Thursdays (alternate weeks). Call schedules may vary depending on the geographic make up of the majority of participants. Currently the timezones work best for artists in Australia, New Zealand, the US and similar timezones. All calls are recorded and posted to the group for anyone who can’t attend live. Quarterly Doing Days are held 4 times a year and are not recorded
It appears that everyone worries about how much time they have. But if being an artist is important to you, how will you ever have enough time? Simple, in this program, I will teach you to find more time. Finding more time for your creativity is something we help you with – and you even get the Çreating my Own Time eBook as a bonus. Plus we look at mindset issues impacting your time.
But we know that life happens and the pace you go at is entirely up to you
It’s one of the reasons you have 12 month’s of access (See also the answer to What if there is too much content) and why extensions are possible. Some of our most successful participants have been those with the least amount of time.
No it isn’t. We have a private platform hosted on Mighty Networks which minimises distractions and allows you to be completely in the zone. When you are in the lounge, you are in the lounge.
Our platform is accessible on web and app, so you can join in, catch up and do the courses on computer, tablet or even smartphone if you like
No! I am Australian and most of the artists in the program are too, but the information taught crosses borders. All the information and calls are in English. As long as English and the time zones work for you, we welcome you. I have worked with artists in the US, the UK and Europe as well as throughout Australia

The Artists Business Lounge has been a rewarding strengthener for me, one that I recommend to all artists whether they are early, mid or established in their careers. The Success Systems Program consistently provides me with arts-specific business learning opportunities, allowing me to focus on my fine arts practice and career. Amanda has the natural talent of seeing through mindset fog or practice limits, to respond to problems, in a tailored way, with a precise range of useful arts-business tools, ones that nurture good work habits with regards to studio time, showing and selling work, professional identity care and the care of your clients/ patrons/ gallery partnerships and professional income.

Multi-faceted artist pulled in many directions went from foggy overwhelm to clarity and success
The Artists Business Lounge has been amazing for me. In a few short months, my art headspace went from foggy to very focused. I used to suffer from shiny object syndrome where I had many projects but not really doing any of them well. Amanda has been an inspiration in guiding me in the Success System program and with one one-on-one coaching. I now have a focused business plan and my art career is flourishing with commissions and sales.
