The Artists Business Lounge was pleased to present Table 21 a group exhibition by artists in The Artists Business Lounge Success System program.
Table 21 opened at Finite Art Space, on Tuesday 28th September 2021. A drinks function with the curator and artists (some of whom visited via Zoom) was being held on Thursday 30th September 6 – 8 pm
In late 2020, The Artists Business Lounge – an arts business program for Visual Artists with online courses and coaching – was launched by Brisbane-based artist and art business coach Amanda van Gils.
Table 21 showcased art by 11 of the individuals who joined the initial launch of the program.
Connected by a mutual desire to elevate their art practice, the 11 artists in this exhibition spent time in the weekly Zoom calls. where Amanda led them through the step by step planning. The online connections, sharing plans, progress and generosity of spirit quickly became a community energised by their mutual support and appreciation for each other’s successes.
“Without The Artist Business Lounge the constant Covid lockdowns could have meant artistic isolation but we banded together, sharing our work, our process and developing our art businesses. Our individual and collective growth is astounding and I am so excited that it will culminate in the exhibition TABLE 21.” – Janet Evans @walkyourjourneycreative
Bringing together artists with decades of exhibiting experience, and those who have never previously exhibited, the artists worked together on all the árt business’ preparation and planning for this exhibition – everything from developing a promotional plan, creating a catalogue, organising budgets and writing press releases.
Table 21 presented smaller works – tasters if you will – to showcase the breadth of work by these eleven individuals. All works were made available for sale at the exhibition and online. For some of the artists, Table 21 was a debut exhibition and for some their debut in Brisbane and for some Table 21 represented their first art sales.
The artists in this exhibition included
Steven Warburton
Jan Allsopp
Rachael Lee
Gillian Richards
Ulla Taylor
Donna Malone
Janet Evans
Michelle Mann
Peter Brook
Heather Bryant and
Siobhan Kelley.
